Smithills Hall, Bolton
We visited Smithills Hall in Bolton on the 6th October in order to set up the static night vision cameras up in and around the location the day before the actual investigation as we knew that our time given to get in and out was very limited.
Holding over seven hundred years of history, from the Medieval, Tudor to the Victorian times, I had high hopes for the actual investigation night. Yet, whilst setting up the cameras the day before, we seemed to be getting a lot of interference with the cameras as some would not connect. In one location I was on the floor trying to get the cameras to work, when I heard footsteps coming towards me and knowing that I was completely alone in the area as it was a restricted part of the building I knew that this was spirit.
On the night of the investigation, myself and Dave took ourselves off for a walk around the grounds before any of the public showed up to see if we could capture anything on a digital still camera. Below are the photos taken that night as we walked around, on some I have circled areas of interest.
During the night, little bits of information was received and clarified by the staff that remained with us during the night regarding the medieval hall and the occupants. Of course, I will reveal this information so I don’t contaminate your mind should you go there on your own investigation in the future. It was an interesting time at Smithills Hall and one that needs further investigation in the future.
Below are further still images taken on the night and again I have circled areas of interest. Video footage or audio taken on the night is still being reviewed and will be up loaded if anything deemed to be of interest will be uploaded.
