Paranormal Secret & Abandoned Locations
Location 1. Merseyside
Ghost hunts or Paranormal investigations as I prefer to call them, held at secret locations or abandon places are sometimes the best as they have either not been discovered or investigated and the energy can be stronger because of this. The first secret location has to be one of my favourite due to the evidence we received and also at the time, it was just around the corner from where I lived. The name will remain a secret so I don’t get in trouble and to also protect the building.
The building dates back the 1400s to 1500s and was in a derelict state, although there were signs of renovation. As always, I don’t know the history of the building or of those that lived there, apart from the one friend that came along, as she lived there in the through the eighties and nineties with here children.
On the night, there were seven of us and all friends and we had the basic equipment from a couple of handheld night vision camcorders and voice recorders. We knew that we would only be there for a couple of hours at most, so we didn’t go through all of the normal experiments that we would hold as if it was a public event.
The building had various rooms downstairs and one even had a bread oven. Upstairs and leading off a corridor were several bedrooms, one had a partition wall that would have been a bathroom or ensuite. There was an outside toilet and a tractor shed, around the corner there was a large brick built barn. The corridor was given the name of “THE CORRIDOR OF FEAR” by my friends children as they always got the feeling they were being watched or followed when they got up in the night to use the bathroom and it scared them.
On knowing this, we headed straight to the landing. After awhile up stairs and going from from to room, my friends decided to go into the room at the very end of the corridor which had the partition wall in and with a friend carrying a night vision camcorder. I started walking back along the corridor towards the stairs with my own night vision camera, but I knew I wasn’t alone so I shouted to my friend how I felt as I couldn’t see the spirit as they wouldn’t show themselves to me.
At this point my friends camcorder started play up, she told me it had turned itself off then on and then took a photo. It wasn’t until we reviewed the footage that we had captured a truly fantastic dark image of a person at the end looking past me. Below is the footage where the camcorder take photo and where you will hear me say that “i’m not alone” and if you watch you will see all my six friends leave the room they were in, so we know that what captured was spirit. The photo to the right has been taken from the footage below in order to give you a better chance of viewing it.
We headed downstairs and to one of the rooms with a fireplace that had the skeletons of dead birds in the ashes. We decided to do a table tipping experiment and immediately got movement, we were asking different questions when the table started to fall over, I asked the spirit that had made contact if it could stop the table from falling over. Unfortunately it did fall over but I said thank you nonetheless. Again on reviewing the footage and voice recorder, we realised that we had picked up an intelligent response to myself saying “Thank you”. Below is the clip from the night vision camcorder and also from the voice recorder. Please take a look and see if you can decipher what’s being said from spirit in response.

Our time at this location was short, in fact, I think we were only there for about three hours. I have however returned several times with each time receiving different experiences and I have included photos taken on one of those nights.
Derelict House, Birkdale, Merseyside
Even though this is a derelict house, it still had an owner that asked me to go into the building and hold a cleansing ceremony before the building was renovated. It was a grand house in its day but unfortunately most of the grandeur had already been ripped from its soul, with it high ceilings and leaded windows most of the original floor plan had already changed. The house had four levels from basement, ground and to further level above that would have been the original bedroom area, the had roof been raised to form the new fourth level. The outside area was vast and more of a building site with piles of rubble and holes in the ground around the building where parts of the building had been changed or removed completely. I had been the on two occasions to do a private investigation before returning to do a cleansing through out.
During my times there along with a few friends and having the normal set up of the fixed and handheld night vision cameras, voice recorders and a thermal imager we had a dew eventful times. We were setting up four of the fixed cameras up stairs and then returned to the main screen to link them the to the live feed monitor, but, when doing so, not of the cameras cam up on screen. Now its not unusual for maybe one camera to not work as there could be a break in the connection, but all four is very unlikely. I couldn’t believe what I saw when we went to make sure that all the cameras connections were sound, we found that all the cables running to the camera had not only been disconnected but the cables had been put into two piles in the corner of the rooms, we had no explanation or a way to debunk the activity.
As like most haunted places, you felt as if you was being watched from the darkness and sometimes it didn’t feel very welcoming. This was the case in one of the many rooms as heat spots appeared on the thermal imager as it was pointed towards one of the doorways, at first we tried to find the spots but the walls had been taken back to bare brick and the electric cabling or water pipes stripped. But then we realised that the heat was coming from spirit but no communication was made at this time.
We did return to the same area where we had the heat signature of spirit earlier, we called out to the spirit to come forward and to make contact in anyway that they could, either by tapping or making a noise or through one any other means. We noticed a tapping every time we talked or asked a question as if in response or reply, with certain questions we discovered that we was dealing with a woman that once worked at the house as a nanny and we also made contact with a little girl that lived there. Although the information was sparse, it was enough to make us believe that the noises we had heard within EVPS sessions had confirmed the evidence of a girl to be true.
However, this communication was short lived as the lady and girl seemed to get scared and move away rather quickly and It was at this point that I became very aware of spirit coming close to the doorway, when my friend Dave told be that he could see a heat signature in the very doorway I was standing next too. He concentrated on the doorway to see what would appear as we called out for the spirit to come forward, when , out of the darkness and what can only be described as eyes looking back at him, this can be seen in the first two images below as you can clearly make out a face. The third image shows the heat from myself standing up against the wall next to the door and the heat mass from spirit in the doorway.
The heat signature stayed with us for some time and even moved closer towards the team before disappearing into the darkness. It was unsettling as we had received information from the lady that there was a man in the house that was strict and argumentative and that also controlled the other spirits within the house. there was even one room that we all felt uneasy or wanted to be left alone in and anytime during the night.
We have been to this property twice from the request of the owner and on both occasions we were able to make contact with spirit and catch EVP with a various degree of evidence. From the normal tapping and bang sound that we get with with most place, but here we got the sound of groans and musical boxes. Below is a collection of the EVPS from both of the visits at this very interesting location.
In this first EVP, you will hear myself and a friend asking questions and that we get a tapping sound in response. However, there is also another sound made which is the end that I heard at the time but not by my friend yet it was picked up by the recorder, but we cannot decide what it is.
Is this the groaning of the man that had a dark energy as we leave the area that we had the face appear on the thermal imager or is it two different entities talking to each other? Take a listen and see what you think.
Whilst setting up for a table tipping session in what would have been the front room, there was an almighty bang that came from the staircase area. You can hear us react to it but on investigating we could not determine the cause of such a load bang. The staircase seemed to have lots of energy as we got a lot of responses and EVPs from that area.
Is this spirit making contact when I ask for a name?
Below are is an photo taken from the first time we investigated the house, all the lights are on as we are setting up. Even though the photo is a little blurry, it show the true size and grandeur of this old building. On review of the photos taken that night, this once stood out the most due what we believe to a dark or demonic entity captured with the the photo. The first image is the original as it was taken that night. The second is the same shot but I have circled the lower right hand window that shows the entity. In the last image I have cropped the original and circled the area where you can clearly make out the head with the nose and eyes and with its long grey hair and then the back cloak and the arm. It also appears to be looking either out the window or possibly to the other members of the team that are setting up the cameras.
Disused Respite Home, Southport
Once again we found ourselves in a creepy old house that was all on one level and would of been a house of character in its hay day. But, sadly over time it was used for other purposes like a respite home. Even though this house didn’t have any upper levels, it still had a vast amount of rooms and corridors. We made two visits to this location on request from the owner as noises had been heard whilst maintenance was being carried out. On the first occasion we set up the fixed cameras and then left the building to settle but just before leaving, I placed a voice recorder on a table that was in the front room to see if it was able to pick anything up. What I discovered on playback sent shivers down my spin.
In the audio clip we have left the house and lock both sets of doors before driving away, even though the house is set quite far back of the road but you will still be able to hear the passing traffic. Once we leave there is the sound of a woman in distress but even though we cant make out what is being said, the sound of distress is very clear.
There were so many rooms in the place that along one corridor we decided to name some of them due to the feeling or experience we had in there. One was the grumpy room as we had picked up a grumpy man’s voice, and another room was called the tingly room because everytime we enteredit we all got a tingly come over us.
It was on the second visit that we had physical evidence in the “Tingly” room. We set up the camera in the room and secured the door open incase we captured spirit walking past the room. After we had finished the investigation we left the cameras recording as we planned to return the next day to collect them. I decided to do a Facebook live session to show the place in the daylight, walking for room to room I was explain the experience we had had . It was just as I got to the “tingly room doorway that it slammed shut in my face. In the video clip you can see that as the door closes, i’m in shock and just stand there and we try to work out how it happened as there was no way that it could close on its own. If you watch closely at the video, you can just make out that the door handle moves down as if someone has taken hold of it to close the door.
On further investigating of the building, we discovered the cellar through a tiny hatch it the bathroom. below we could see the original stone stairs, squeezing through the hatch into the darkness below we found the wine cellar or store room and another large room. Although nothing was picked up on Video or EVP, we did pick up a few orbs.
